I’ll never forget the nerves and how I spilled coffee on my clothes moments before my first conference tech talk. Equally, I’ll never forget the exhilaration I felt after the talk as people thanked me, in person and in tweets, and wanted to keep discussing the ideas I’d spoken about.
Speaking at a conference is such a great way to put forward your ideas, work and experiences and it is well worth the effort to make the leap onto centre stage. I’ve spent a lot of effort learning how to write good abstracts, make talks interesting, connect
with the audience and control the stage fright.
I would love to work with anyone who wants to give it a go, or improve on past performances and get bolder and better.
